Lichen, algae and all things mouldy.

Lichen, algae and all things mouldy. I have become increasingly interested in the forms of which lichen grows and forms on rocks and other stone forms. Looking at it in detail it is truly amazing, so much colour, so many forms, shapes, depth, overlapping. I aim to try and replicate the way in the which the colour and texture across the rocks and stones has formed, through glazing onto hand coiled vases. Adding texture pre-bisque firing will also help and allow the glaze to stick in different areas over the vases, which will hopefully add depth to my final forms.
